50 mobility solutions for regions
21 July 2021

We are very proud to announce that Cocolis is one of the 50 solutions selected for regional mobility!
The Mobility Orientation Law
In France, in some areas, residents have no choice but to use their own car. Indeed, there are sometimes very few alternatives.
To address mobility and environmental concerns, the State introduced the Mobility Orientation Law (LOM) in December 2019. Its aim is to eliminate areas not covered by a local Mobility Organising Authority (AOM).
Until now, urban communities, urban areas and metropolises made up the AOMs. One problem remained: large areas still had no alternative solutions. In regions where villages are far apart, municipalities cannot always offer an alternative to the car.
Today, the LOM encourages local and regional communities to take on this responsibility. However, if no one has taken on this responsibility by 1 July 2021, it automatically falls to the region.
50 mobility solutions for our regions
In 2021, this initiative aims to help regional presidents, mayors, local officials and unions make a choice. The 50 solutions facilitating citizens’ mobility across the country have been selected and sorted according to their use.
These solutions must meet 3 criteria:
- Innovation
- Speed of implementation (within 12 months)
- Sustainability
In terms of figures, transport is responsible for the emission of 136.3 million tonnes of greenhouse gases. Road traffic produces 95% of this. 75% of drivers have no passengers and 18 to 24% of French lorries run empty!
Cocolis is one of them!
Cocolis is now among these solutions that will enable cheaper and more sustainable travel!
A few months ago, we applied to propose our collaborative delivery solution. We address certain shortcomings in goods transport, notably: delivery in white zones, last mile delivery and the transport of heavy and bulky goods, among others.
By connecting delivery requests to existing journeys, we offer:
- An environmental benefit: by reducing the number of cars running empty
- An economic and social benefit: the driver earns money and the sender saves money
Cocolis is one of the 50 solutions selected to improve mobility in our regions. Thus, the various AOMs will be able to recommend us to individuals, shopkeepers or even transport companies.
