Interview with Balibart, the marketplace dedicated to creatives
3 April 2017

This week I interviewed Adrien Salamon, co-founder of Balibart.
What is Balibart?
Balibart is a startup that enables artists from all over the world to make a living from their art, freeing up their time, by developing tools and services that help them become better known, sell their products, and thus find funds to finance their creativity.
How did the idea for Balibart come about?
Max (my current partner) and I were together at HEC, and it all started in an association, the current HEC Junior production.
We noticed that there was nothing online to promote graphic arts, whereas there were resources for audiovisual, etc.
So after a year off, we met up again, and after questioning ourselves about our business creation project, we decided to develop an idea that led to what exists today, starting with the first launch of the site on September 1, 2014.
3 words to define Balibart?
Tough question! Let's say: Passion, quirky, creation!
Who is behind Balibart?
It's a small team of 8 people: Maxime, the co-founder, Pauline, in charge of content writing, Marion, a graphic designer for Balibart's illustrations, Sébastien, who supports all the artists and creators, and finally a group of developers to improve the platform.
How do you select your artists?
By signing up on the Balibart platform or directly on the shop.co, any interested artist, whether a group of musicians, tattoo artists, production companies, Instagrammers, or even YouTubers, can create their online store.
What are your next events?
Our goal is of course to expand the community of interested artists, but also to help them sell better by organising seminars and online courses.
