Opening Cocolis to professional transporters

More and more people on Cocolis are looking to ship bulky, hard-to-handle or particularly fragile goods. For all these people in need, we have decided to open the platform to professional transporters.

Because at Cocolis, we know very well that being a road haulier is a real profession, requiring specific expertise and equipment.

However, at Cocolis, we also know that:

• In France, a transport company can never offer rates as competitive as an undeclared transporter.
• An individual cannot transport parcels for others for payment, except for sharing travel costs, as stated in Article 3132-1 of the Transport Code.

For all these reasons, and in order to maintain fair competition on Cocolis, we are committed to carefully and manually verifying the legal documents of every person registering as a professional transporter on our co-transport platform.

To do this, professional transporters must:

1. Create an account by entering your first and last name, company name, type of business, date of birth and phone number.
2. (If self-employed/micro-entrepreneur) Add to your personal documents: ID, Kbis less than 3 months old, transport licence and professional liability insurance certificate.
3. (If SAS, SARL, etc.) Provide the signed company statutes.
4. Complete the Register of beneficial owners.
5. Add bank details to enable transfers.

Transport companies whose business is disrupted by the rise of cabotage (short-distance transport of goods) will be able to make full use of Cocolis, and therefore make more deliveries. Especially when returning empty or with a partial load.

But fighting the black market in transport by providing an additional source of income, exclusively to declared transport companies, also helps to improve the experience and satisfaction of our users.
