With Cocolis, your shipments are protected

The risk of bumps or drops is almost zero with Cocolis (0.02% to be exact)!

Why? Because your parcels don't go from conveyor belt to conveyor belt on a giant logistics chain, nor do they pass through dozens of anonymous hands.

It's also because our co-transporters take care of them as if they were their own! But since no one is immune to a badly placed speed bump or a sharp turn, here are a few tips to pack your parcels properly.

receiving a parcel

Step 1: choose the right container

When sending your items with Cocolis, there's no need for standardised packaging that often costs more. Reuse your old boxes, or ask your local shop if they have any spare boxes. Are you a fan of online shopping? Recycle containers and give them a second life. Any box will be perfect for packing your parcel!

A few tips to help you:

Use a sturdy box of the right size. A box that's too big could let items move around inside.

Check there are no holes, tears or crushed corners. The box must be in perfect condition to withstand the journey.

To keep the item stable during transit, if possible, pack it in a box with a flat bottom.

Step 2: protect your items

To make sure your items arrive in perfect condition, you must protect them well inside the box. Here are some tips for optimal protection:

✓ Wrap each fragile item with bubble wrap or air cushions for optimal protection.

Use crumpled paper, polystyrene or shredded cardboard to fill empty spaces in the box. This prevents items from moving and breaking.

Step 3: seal your parcel securely

Once your parcel is packed, it's essential to seal it properly to avoid accidental opening during transport. Follow these steps for a secure closure:

✓ Use wide, strong tape to seal the box. Apply several layers if necessary, especially on the openings and corners – the more, the sturdier!

✓ Close the flaps of the box and secure them with tape in an "H" shape on the top and bottom. This reinforces the structure and prevents accidental openings.

Trust is essential at Cocolis. Your transporter will travel with peace of mind if the parcel contents match the listing. So, make sure the items you send are legal and not dangerous.

And for bulky parcels

If, due to its size or shape, it's difficult to pack your item in a simple box, let your carrier know when arranging the journey so they can take it into account.

Try to protect it as best as possible during transport. For example, to pack a chest of drawers, you can use old blankets to protect it from scratches or bumps during the journey!
