How does parcel carpooling work?
Sign up and post an ad
Users sign up on a platform dedicated to parcel carpooling, such as Cocolis. Those wishing to send a parcel post an ad describing the item, its dimensions, the starting point and the destination.
Search and offer a journey
Travellers with space in their car search the ads matching their route. They can then offer their services, indicating their price and availability.
Contact and arrangement
The sender and the carrier get in touch via the platform to discuss the details of the transport. They agree on a price, a date and a meeting place for handing over the parcel.
Transport and delivery
The carrier takes charge of the parcel and transports it to its destination. Once delivered, the sender confirms receipt on the platform, and the traveller receives their payment.
